David’s cooking is exceptional
David’s cooking is exceptional. I have never eaten so consistently well over an extended period of time as the week I spent on holiday where he was cooking. His repertoire is extremely varied, from very elegant executions of classical French and English dishes such as beautifully cooked and presented game, to delicious and informal family lunches and picnics of hearty soups, fried chicken and a beautiful ham with cumberland sauce. His baking is also sensational (I can still taste his velvety chocolate cake, and the puddings were all irresistible). He was also extremely patient with the children, teaching them to gut and scale a fish, and remembering and accounting for individual preferences and allergies. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. He’s also good fun and very comfortable leading a team.

Exceptionally High Standard
In each situation whether informal or formal he cooks to an exceptionally high standard, where the natural flavour of each dish is cooked to its best potential. His ability to combine dishes to complement each other both visually and by taste is brilliant. His range of cooking goes from traditional British to Thai, French, Italian, Moroccan. I can always trust him to serve this high standard at every meal, whatever the occasion, on time and to the menu we agreed.
